Ford Expedition
has a towing capacity of between 8,750 and 9,200 pounds depending on the model’s drivetrain configuration and whether it’s equipped with the upgraded towing package. The Ford Expedition has an impressive towing capacity for an SUV and is a fine choice for hauling a boat or a camper. But, weight limits vary depending on whether you’re driving with the 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. Maximum towing capacities will require you to outfit your Expedition with a trailer tow package.
On a 4x2, just two of the wheels are given torque—either the front or rear. A 4x4 drivetrain gives torque to all of the wheels. Let’s check out the towing capacities for each one:
