What is the Oregon electric vehicle rebate?
I was thinking about buying an electric car, as my city now has plenty of electric charging stations. However, I want to make sure I can get some money back in the form of rebates if I buy. Does Oregon have an electric vehicle rebate?

Oregon
has one of the best electric vehicle rebates in the country, offering incentives of up to $7,500. These are through two different rebates that are part of the Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program.The standard rebate is available to every Oregon resident, provided the manufacturer’s suggested retail price is less than $50,000 and you apply for the rebate within six months of the purchase. This rebate offers:
- $1,500 for an electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in EV with a battery under 10 kWh.
- $2,500 for an EV or plug-in EV with a battery over 10 kWh.
Some Oregonians may also be eligible for the Charge Ahead Rebate. This rebate is open to Oregon residents that have a household income of up to 400% of the poverty line in the state. For EV purchases before January 1, 2022, this rebate is $2,500. For EV purchases on or after January 1, 2022, the rebate is $5,000.
So if you bought an EV on or after January 1, 2022, you could potentially qualify for up to $7,500 by combining EV rebates from Oregon.
