What is the Missouri speed limit?

I just moved to St. Louis a few months ago, but I want to take a trip to Kansas City to scope it out. I’ve never driven across the state before, so I want to make sure I don’t speed. What’s the speed limit in Missouri?

The road trip from
St. Louis
to
Kansas City
is smooth driving, but if you don’t want to get a ticket, take note that the
Missouri
speed limit is a maximum of 70 mph. This speed limit applies to most of the journey from the Lou to KC, but watch out for slower speed limits (55 mph) near Columbia.
Other speed limits to watch out for in Missouri are:
  • 55 mph to 65 mph Rural U.S. highways, county roads, and state highways
  • 65 mph on undivided highways
  • 40 mph in municipalities
  • 20 mph in business districts
