In California, the minimum amount that
bodily injury liability coverage
will pay is 15k per person and 30k per accident. This is relatively low compared to other states, considering the average cost of a bodily injury liability claim is around 15k.
The maximum bodily injury coverage can be quite high. The preferred tier is 100/300, but people often go to 250/500 if they want.
You can go even higher! For example, you can go up to 500k or even one million, though those are most likely custom coverages.
