How many drinks can you have and still drive in Illinois? I know you can have a drink without getting a drunk driving charge, but what’s the blood-alcohol limit?

For the average adult, this is the equivalent of about four standard drinks, as each drink typically raises your BAC by about 0.02%.However, you are your best judge. If you’ve had one drink and feel intoxicated, don’t drive. It’s better to be safe, so err on the side of caution when getting behind the wheel after a drink or two. It’s much cheaper to pay for a taxi or rideshare service than it is to pay legal fees for a drunk driving accident.
