, the best year is 2015 since it ranks high for dependability. J.D. Power gave it first place in its class for reliability back in 2015. Likewise, RepairPal gives the 2015 Avalon an above-average 4.0/5.0 reliability rating.It’s also a very safe car, receiving a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS. Other notable years for the Avalon are 2003, 2009, and 2012.
Not all Avalons are created equal, though. There are some years you should avoid such as the 2014 model which had sudden acceleration issues. The 2006 edition also suffered from total loss of motor oil without warning.
