What is the best year for a used Jeep Patriot?
My neighbor is selling their 2013 Jeep Patriot, and I’m interested. They’re willing to give me a good deal, but I don’t want to end up spending a bunch of money on repairs. I’m hoping that 2013 isn’t a bad year for the Patriot, but what is the best year for this Jeep?

It’s definitely a good idea to check out model years before you spring for a used car. Fortunately for you, 2013 was a pretty good year for the
Jeep Patriot
, although the 2014 to 2017 model years are the best. The Patriots made before production ended in 2017 had the highest quality of materials in the cabin, and the available technology was, unsurprisingly, better than in the early production years. Plus, Jeep responded to problems with the early models, so the Patriot was more reliable.
While the 2017 Jeep Patriot isn’t a luxury car, it is affordable and the best of the production run. Jeep ended on a high note and stopped production the following year.
Also, you might want to avoid the 2008 model, which has the most driver complaints of any model year. Drivers didn’t like the lack of trim options, and they had problems with the body, fuel system, transmission, suspension, and engine—none of which are cheap repairs!
