What is the best route from Phoenix to New York City?
I am currently moving out of my place in Phoenix, Arizona and will be taking a road trip to my brand-new apartment in New York City! What’s the route that will get me and my things there the fastest?

That’s a big move! Thankfully, it’s pretty much a straight shot from
Phoenix
to New York City
as the best route is to take follows I-40E, I-81N, and I-10E for essentially all of the trip. Let’s take a closer look at the steps you’ll need to take:
- Head west on Washington St. towards 1st Ave.
- Turn right onto N 7th Ave.
- Merge onto I-10E towards Tucson
- Take exit 147A-147B to AZ-202 Loop E
- Take exit AZ-87 N onto I-40E in Holbrook
- Follow I-40E for 2,393 miles
- When you arrive in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, use the right line to merge onto I-81N
- Follow Exit 89 for I-78 E towards Allentown
- Once you’re on I-78, it’s a straight shot to the Big Apple!
