What is the 2020 Ford Explorer's towing capacity?

My wife and I are in the market for a new car and we’ve been considering the Ford Explorer. We really need a car that can tow our trailer, though, because we love to camp. What is the 2020 Ford Explorer’s towing capacity?

An important question, since you’ll be using it to go camping! The 2020
Ford Explorer
has a towing capacity of 5,300 to 5,600 pounds if you purchase the towing package. Even if you don’t purchase the towing package with your new vehicle, the Ford Explorer still has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
In order to assess how much weight your trailer will put on your new car, you’ll need to check the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your camper. Your camper should be less than 75 percent of the Explorer’s towing capacity, meaning it should have a GVWR of around 3,750 to 4,200 pounds. You should be able to find and check the GVWR on the front left-hand side of your trailer.
Whether you decide to go with the Explorer or choose a different vehicle, you’ll need a new insurance policy. The
