What is the 2019 RAM 1500 ticking noise?

I just bought a certified pre-owned 2019 RAM 1500 with low miles. It runs great so far, but recently, I’ve heard a weird ticking noise. What could be causing this?

RAM trucks from 2019 are
generally cheap to maintain
and aren’t known to have any major mechanical issues. But if you hear something out of the ordinary, the 2019 RAM 1500 ticking noise is most likely caused by one of two things:
  1. A crack in the exhaust manifold: This was a problem known to plague older models of the RAM 1500, but the 2019 model was redesigned to prevent this issue. However, it’s something that you may want to inspect.
  2. The natural hum of the engine: If you purchased a 2019 RAM 1500 with the 5.7-liter HEMI under the hood, the HEMI has a natural tick that you don’t hear in most other truck engines.
The only way to know for sure is to stay on top of the
basic maintenance schedule
in the owner’s manual and take your truck into the shop ASAP if you notice any issues.
