What is the 2009 Ford Expedition towing capacity?

My grandpa can’t drive anymore, so he wants to sell me his 2009 Ford Expedition on the cheap. I need a new car anyway and I’m excited that I might have a vehicle that’s powerful enough to let me buy a camper. But before I buy it, how much can this SUV tow?

If you want a full-size SUV with alluring looks, a well-appointed interior, and power to match, the 2009
Ford Expedition
is an awesome choice. Without the tow package, the 2009 Ford Expedition towing capacity is 6,000 pounds. But with the optional tow package, the Expedition’s towing capacity increases to between 9,000 and 9,200 pounds.
At the center of the Expedition’s power is a 5.4-liter V-8 that pumps out 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. This provides enough brawn to tow the camper that you want, but depending on the size of the camper, you may want to get the tow package. Contact your local Ford dealer to see if they can equip it if your current model doesn’t have this optional feature.
Due to its power and size, the 2009 Ford Expedition may have higher insurance prices than you anticipated. But before you just accept the increased cost, hop on the
