I’m going to do my test to get my driver’s license soon so I want to make sure I’m prepared. Wondering if you could help me with how to properly do a shoulder check?

Good luck with your driving test! Doing a shoulder check is simple—you just need to quickly turn your head left or right and look out your side window. This allows you to check your blindspot so that you can maneuver your car safely.
To practice before your test, you’ll first need to locate your blind spots. Park your car in a safe area and have your instructor circle your vehicle one car’s width away. The areas where you can’t see your instructor in the mirrors are the blind spots.
Make it a habit to always do a shoulder check whenever you:
Merge with traffic
Switch lanes
Make a turn
Pull out from the curb
Parallel park
Make a three-point turn or U-turn
Reverse
