What is privacy glass on a car?
My cousin is offering to sell me his car. He says the windows have privacy glass. I’m not sure what that means. What is privacy glass on a car?

Good question! Privacy glass is darkened window glass that doesn’t allow light into the vehicle and makes it difficult to see in the window.
Privacy glass has a special dye or pigment applied to the window that darkens the glass. This keeps light out and makes it more difficult to see into, giving those inside the car privacy.
Other than these benefits, a privacy glass window is the same as a standard auto window.
However, privacy glass is not the same as a tinted window. Privacy glass doesn’t block UVs or lower the heat inside the vehicle. Nor does it make the window harder to shatter, another feature of a tinted window.
