Every new Genesis
comes with a limited warranty package that offers bumper-to-bumper coverage and a powertrain warranty. Bumper-to-bumper coverage—or comprehensive warranty—lasts for 5 years or 60,000 miles and covers most of the parts on your vehicle parts. For example, if your transmission goes out or your air conditioning fails, you can have it fixed at no charge.
Your powertrain warranty lasts 10 years or 100,000 miles and covers only the most important parts of your vehicle, including the engine, transmission, and drive axles.
Keep in mind that the warranty only covers defects—not damage related to wear and tear or everyday hazards, such as salt, hail, and windstorms (or less common hazards like industrial fallout or acid rain). Also, scratches in the paint are not covered, nor are chips caused by sand, gravel, or other road debris.
Compared to other luxury car manufacturers—like Audi
, BMW
, and Mercedes-Benz
—Genesis’ factory warranty is considerably longer! Plus, you can extend the warranty by purchasing the Genesis Protection Plan Vehicle Service Contract any time before your factory warranty expires. In addition to extending the length and coverage of your warranty, the Genesis Protection Plan Vehicle Service Contract includes these exclusive perks:
24-hour roadside assistance
Rental car reimbursement up to $35 per day for up to 10 days
Trip interruption coverage up to $200 per day for up to five days
Towing to the nearest participating Genesis dealership or authorized service provider
Keep in mind that a car warranty and car insurance
are two very different things. Whether you stick with the factory warranty, or upgrade to the extended warranty, you’ll still need top-notch coverage from a reliable insurance company. If you’d rather leave the hard work of gathering quotes to someone else, use Jerry
