I bought a Honda recently—my first new car in 38 years. My kids keep jabbering on about some system I can hook my phone up to in the car, something called HondaLink. I don’t have much patience for all these new-fangled electric telephones and their accouterments. But I kinda can’t stop wondering…what exactly is HondaLink?

HondaLink is a connectivity suite that allows you to pair your smartphone with your new

. With HondaLink, you’ll be able to use your phone via the car’s infotainment system to make phone calls (hands-free of course), play music from your smartphone library, or stream music and podcasts, as well as use navigation apps.Connecting your smartphone to your HondaLink system is a snap, just follow these steps:
- Download the HondaLink app to your Apple or Android smartphone
- Open the app
- Scan your VIN into the app (find your VIN on the driver’s side doorjamb)
- Create a new account
- Pair your phone via Bluetooth to your vehicle by following the app’s instructions
- Touch the HondaLink icon on your touchscreen
- Use HondaLink to your heart’s delight!
