I’m looking to buy a used Ford Escape from the local dealership and I heard that Ford offers a warranty on their used cars. What does that entail?

You heard right! Ford provides Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty coverage to eligible pre-owned vehicles.
Here’s what is covered under Ford’s Certified Pre-owned Warranty:
- First, if still in effect, coverage is provided for the remainder of the Ford New-Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty.
- Second, Ford Certified Pre-Owned Comprehensive Limited Warranty coverage is provided for 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the expiration of the Ford New-Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty or the date of your Certified Pre-Owned vehicle purchase, whichever comes later.
- Third, a Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage is provided by the Ford Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain Limited Warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the original Ford New-Vehicle Limited Warranty start date.
The Powertrain Limited Warranty covers all major aspects of your vehicle’s engine, transmission, and drivetrain. The Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty adds coverage for mechanical and electric components of your Ford’s steering, brakes, air conditioning/heating, technology, safety features, emissions, audio system, and more.
