What is considered reckless driving in N.C.?

North Carolina, like many other states, is fairly ambiguous when it comes to reckless driving laws. Driving with a disregard for the safety, rights, and well-being of others is considered reckless driving in N.C., but there is no specific speed or behavior that is designated as reckless.
Typically, going over 75 MPH will be enough to earn you a reckless driving charge. You’ll also be charged with reckless driving if you are driving 15 MPH over the speed limit of 55 MPH or less.
As the speed limit increases, you’re more likely to get a reckless driving ticket rather than a
speeding ticket
