What is Chevy’s drivetrain warranty?

Chevrolet’s drivetrain is covered in its powertrain limited warranty. That warranty covers the:
- engine
- transfer case
- drivetrain
- transmission
Drivetrain warranties cover only the drivetrain, which is made up of the transmission, driveshaft, wheels, and axles. A vehicle’s powertrain includes all that and other components that move the vehicle, such as the engine.
Chevy’s powertrain warranty is good for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. That’s fairly standard as far as powertrain warranties go, but some manufacturers offer longer powertrain warranties. Here are a few:
- Hyundai: 10 years/100,000 miles
- Kia: 10 years/100,000 miles
- Genesis: 10 years/100,000 miles
- Mitsubishi: 10 years/100,000 miles
- Infiniti: 6 years/70,000 miles
The powertrain warranty is typically included as part of your manufacturer’s new car factory warranty, which usually covers additional items like corrosion and roadside assistance.
