conviction. If you exceed 0.15%, you could be charged with an aggravated DUI, and exceeding 0.2% will land you an extreme DIU conviction. If you’re going out drinking, the best way to safely arrive home is to call a cab.Be mindful that Arizona also has a zero-tolerance policy for minors, which means that zero alcohol is tolerable in the blood or breath. Drivers under 21 are prohibited from carrying alcohol inside a vehicle unless a parent is present and the container is unopened, full, and sealed.
A first offense for a DUI in Arizona has the following penalties:
- $1,480 fine
- Minimum of 10 consecutive days in jail
- Minimum 90-day driver’s license suspension
- Required ignition interlock device (IID)
- SR-22 required
- Up to 5 years probation
