What is an auto credit reference number on a car loan application?
I'm filling out a car loan application, and I came across a section under references that says "auto credit reference number." It's listed next to whether or not I'm trading in my car. What does this mean?

“This could be an internal reference number that the lender will fill out. Essentially, they just want to know if you’re trading in your car.
The number could be a way for the lender to see if you still owe money on your trade-in. Since every application is different, you might just ask the lender to clarify.”
