What is a renters insurance declaration page?
As a part of my lease agreement, my landlord has asked me to purchase renters insurance. I set everything up and have paid for my policy. As proof that I got insurance, my landlord is asking to see my declaration page. What is a declaration page in renters insurance?

Good question. It’s pretty common for a
landlord to require renters insurance
as a part of your lease agreement, so it’s to be expected that they’d want to see the declaration page. A renters insurance
declaration page is a general overview of the important information about your renters insurance policy. The declarations page lists out the different coverages you’re paying for, as well as your limits and deductibles. It’s great to have on hand in case your landlord asks for it, or if you have any questions about your renters policy. If you want to see what’s covered as a peril—and what is not covered—your declarations page is a good place to start.
You’ll typically receive a new declarations page each time you renew your renters insurance policy. It’s usually found stapled to the very front of your policy, but if that’s not the case, you can contact your renters insurance provider to send you a copy.
