What is a normal settlement amount for pain and suffering?
How much should I ask for in a car settlement? I will be submitting a claim for pain and suffering to an at-fault driver's insurance.

“The biggest factor when determining a pain and suffering settlement amount is an at-fault driver’s
bodily injury liability
limit. A driver’s bodily injury limit determines how much a policy will pay out when the driver is at fault and someone is injured in an
accident
. Included this limit are:- pain and suffering
- medical expenses
- lost wages
If a driver has a $50,000 limit for bodily injury and your medical expenses are $35,000, you could technically ask for up to $15,000 in pain and suffering.
However, you aren’t guaranteed to get that exact amount. You’ll be required to negotiate with the at-fault driver’s insurance to come to an agreement on a settlement amount. You want to be sure you’re asking for a fair amount that covers any hardship you’ve faced from the accident.”
