oil type is 5W-30 motor oil. Specifically, Buick recommends Castrol Edge High Mileage 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil.Now, to impress Gramps even more, here’s some information that you’ll find useful in taking care of your 2012 Buick Lacrosse.
The 5W-30 motor oil needed for the Lacrosse performs well in temperatures both high and low. Both the 5 and the 30 refer to the thickness of the oil, or its viscosity.
The 5 means the oil’s viscosity remains thin even at frigid temperatures, and the W means winter. The 30 indicates the oil will stay thin and keep flowing at super-hot temperatures.
The great thing about using synthetic oil is that it lasts longer. You only have to change it every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. Synthetic motor oil will also be easier on your engine.
