What happens in Arkansas if you are caught driving without a license?

My friend was pulled over the other day while she was driving without a driver's license. She is only 15 and pretty freaked out. We live in Arkansas, so what will happen to her?

“Getting stopped by the policy at any age can be scary, especially in this type of situation!
Arkansas is one of the most lenient states regarding driving without a license. They consider it a misdemeanor and she will only get a ticket for $500.
Arkansas does state that jail time between two days and six months is an option, but since she is a minor that probably won’t happen. She may have to serve some community service.
One thing your friend will learn is that this ticket could cost her and her parents a lot more money down the line. The record will be at the DMV for when she gets a permit or license. The odds are, the rate of her parent’s insurance policy will increase for a period of time.
Tell your friend to make it up to her parents by proactively doing what she can to keep the rate of their insurance policy down. There are discounts for
good students and additional driver training classes
.
She can also help her parents shop for the lowest rate by using the free
Jerry
app. Jerry collects auto and home quotes from over 50 companies and brings the lowest available rates right to your phone.”
