What happens if you have a stroke while driving?
What would happen if you were driving and you had a stroke? Would you be able to pull the car over? This is a strange fear of mine and even thinking about it makes me kind of nervous.

It may make you feel better to learn that most drivers are able to pull the car over or keep driving if they have a stroke while driving. Having a stroke while driving can lead to an accident, but it is by no means a guaranteed end result.
Common symptoms of having a stroke while driving include:
- Dizziness or disorientation
- Difficulty concentrating on the road
- Difficulty turning your steering wheel orhitting the brakes
- Drifting into other lanes
- Becoming confused or irritated by the traffic around you
If you notice these symptoms, pull over as soon as possible and call 911.
