What happens if you get caught driving past curfew?

Illinois has laws about driving at certain hours when you first get your license. What happens if you break those laws? I’ve never heard of anyone getting pulled over for breaking curfew, so part of me wonders if they don’t really punish you for it.

Unfortunately, there are definitely consequences if you get caught driving past curfew. In the state of
Illinois
, you can get a traffic ticket for driving after curfew, or you can even have your license suspended.
Illinois curfew laws prohibit you from driving:
  • Between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday
  • Between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday
However, you’ll typically be able to get around curfew if you can provide evidence that you were attending an approved activity, like a school function or your job.
