What happens if another driver doesn't have insurance?
What do I do if I got into an accident with someone who is uninsured? They hit me and I'm not at fault.

“If you’re in an accident with an uninsured driver, you’ll want to follow the same steps as if you were in an accident with an insured driver.
- You should call the police and exchange information with the other driver.
- You should also take pictures of all the damage.
- Call yourcar insurance company. They’ll need to be aware of the accident and that the other driver is uninsured.
If you don’t have uninsured/underinsured coverage on your policy, if you have
collision coverage
, it may cover damages to your vehicle. If you have neither of these coverages and can’t afford your repairs, you may need to pursue legal action against the uninsured driver.”
