as your next car, it is a great idea to know ahead of time what kind of fuel it needs.Sometimes high-octane fuels can cost upwards of 50 cents more per gallon as compared with standard gasoline. And if you drive your CX-5 for 150,000 miles, it can easily use over 5,000 gallons of fuel in its lifetime. That cost adds up quickly!
The manufacturer recommends standard gasoline for the CX-5s that feature the regular engine. If you choose a CX-5 with a turbo engine, it is recommended that you use
premium gas
for optimal horsepower and torque.However, the turbo models will still run with standard gasoline.
If you choose the turbo model, some owners have found—especially those who spend a lot of time on the highway—that they have better gas mileage with premium fuel. So, it may be worth doing the math to see if premium fuel could save you money in the long run.
