I’m not sure what type of engine the Ram 1500 uses, and I want to know more about it before I decide that it’s the right truck for me. Does the new Dodge Ram 1500 require diesel fuel?
comes with five engine options, one of which requires diesel fuel:
3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque: The base option for a Ram 1500, this gas engine gets 20 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway.
5.7L HEMI V8: A standard gas engine that gets 15 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway.
5.7L HEMI V8 with eTorque: A gas engine that gets 18 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway.
3.0L EcoDiesel V6: This is the diesel fuel engine, and it does get the best mileage of all of the available engine options with 23 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
6.2L supercharged HEMI V8: A gas engine that gets 10 MPG in the city and 14 MPG on the highway, making it the least fuel-efficient option available for the Ram 1500.
