What electric car did Hammond flip?
My husband is a big fan of racing, and electric car racing in particular. He told me the other day about a car crash with someone named Hammond, and that it was really bad. I can’t remember what car he was driving when he flipped. What electric car did Hammond flip?

Great question! Richard Hammond flipped the Rimac Concept One, an all-electric supercar. Richard Hammond was driving the Rimac Concept One in a hill-climbing event in St. Gallen, Switzerland, that was filmed for an episode of the second series of the Amazon Prime show “The Grand Tour.”

that was designed and dreamt to be the world’s fastest all-electric supercar.Richard Hammond is a television presenter. He’s most well-known for co-hosting “Top Gear” on BBC Two. When he, James May, Jeremy Clarkson, and Andy Wilman left “Top Gear,” they created “The Grand Tour” on Amazon Prime, a motoring entertainment program that followed the same idea as “Top Gear.”
On June 10, 2017, Hammond was driving the Rimac Concept One
electric car
through a hill-climbing event in Switzerland. They were filming an episode for the second season of “The Grand Tour” at the time. Hammond approached a corner on his fourth and final run of the day. He was going too fast to brake enough, and the rear tires lost traction. The Concept One slid through a barrier on the corner, rolling several times down the hill. When it stopped, it was upside down near the bottom.
Hammond remained conscious the whole time. When first responders reached him, he told them: “Drag me by my arms, not my legs, because I think I’ve broken that leg.”
Not long after being removed from the vehicle, the Rimac Concept One burst into flames and was shortly incinerated.
Hammond suffered a fractured knee and was in hospital for six days. It was two months before he could drive again.
