What driving jobs can I do at age 18?
I just graduated high school and want to get a job for the summer before college. None of the normal teen jobs sound appealing, though. Are there any driving jobs I can do at 18?

Congratulations on graduating! 18 is a great age to start working, but being stuck in one place for hours each day can get boring. If you’re looking for jobs that give you the freedom of the open road and earn you money, look no further than these job ideas:
- Food delivery: Pizza shops and restaurants often need delivery drivers, and they’ll often hire teens—sometimes as young as 16 years old. 18-year-olds can also drive for DoorDash, and UberEats may hire 18-year-olds in your city as well.
- Newspaper delivery: Gone are the days of paperboys riding bicycles—you can now deliver newspapers by car if you have a driver’s license. This one is best for the early-risers who want to be done with work before morning classes start.
- Postal Service driver: If you’ve been driving for at least two years and don’t mind going through a thorough screening process, you can deliver mail for the US Postal Service.
- Grocery delivery: Grocery delivery services like Instacart and Shipt hire shoppers and drivers who are 18 or older with a working personal vehicle. You’ll also need to be able to lift 45-50 pounds.
- Florist delivery: A less common option for delivery jobs is driving for a florist. Be sure to check with your local florists for any need they may have! Other gift delivery businesses, like Edible Arrangements and Tiff’s Treats, also hire 18-year-olds to drive.
- Other delivery services: While FedEx and Amazon require their drivers to be 21 or older, other delivery companies accept drivers who are just 18. Here are a few of them:
