I’m trying to help my 18 year old brother after he got pulled over for an OVI. He said a cop told him he’d have a withdrawal on his record, but I’ve never heard that term before. What does withdrawal mean on a driving record in Ohio?

The term withdrawal is used when a government entity—in this case, the Ohio BMV—initiates the formal process of suspending or revoking a person’s driver’s license. Because your brother was pulled over for driving under the influence in Ohio, his license will be suspended for a minimum of one year.
