I’m super excited to be buying my new Honda Civic soon! I plan to keep this car for as long as it runs, so I’m considering the extended warranty. What does the extended warranty cover?
! The Honda extended warranty, also known as Honda Care Vehicle Service Contract, offers a variety of mechanical and electrical coverage with terms up to eight years or 120,000 miles.
The coverage includes:
Drivetrain and powertrain: Engine, transmission, differential, axles, seals, gaskets, and fluids
Electronics: Computers, electronic components, and electrical system
Chassis: Suspension, steering, and brake system
Heating/cooling: Air conditioning, and heating and cooling systems
Honda genuine accessories: Audio and communication devices, and accessories, navigational and security systems
If your Honda Civic is getting any of the covered parts repaired and you need a vehicle during this time, Honda Care will also reimburse your rental car expenses up to $35 per day for up to six days.
However, there are also limitations to the extended warranty. Honda Care exclusions include, and are not limited to:
Body parts
Tires
Maintenance items
Glass
Upholstery
The claims must also not exceed the cash value of the car.
