I have an electric car, and I’ve been doing all of my charging at home. They’ve just added a charging station with Level 2 charging near my office, and I’d love to use it. What does level 2 mean for electric car charging stations?

Like you, most electric vehicle owners do the bulk of their charging at home. Charging stations with Level 2 charging allows you to fill up your electric car five times faster than the charger included with your vehicle.
You’re likely using a Level 1 charger to charge at home. A faster charger, like a Level 2, will allow you to maximize the use of your

and reduce the amount of time you spend charging. They’re perfect for top-ups and situations where you have a limited time to power up. Some EV owners switch out their Level 1 charger for a Level 2. You can plug it into a standard 120V outlet and your electric car. With a charging speed of 18-28 miles an hour, it’s much faster than your home outlet.
