What does "kWh" mean when referring to electric cars?

I was looking at different electric car statistics, and many of the listings referred to “kWh.” What does "kWh" mean when referring to electric cars?

The term kWh is shorthand for kilowatt-hour, which is a term used to refer to a quantity of electricity. For example, 1 kWh is the amount of energy expended in one hour by one kilowatt of power.
The capacity of an
electric car’s
battery is measured in kWh, and your electric bill is also billed by kWh. The average electric car battery capacity is about 40 kWh, but some electric cars have up to 100 kWh. The higher your battery’s kWh amount is, the longer you’ll be able to drive between charges.
