What does international car insurance cost?

"I am going to be traveling and am looking into international car insurance. I'll be driving my vehicle through Canada and then flying to Europe. I plan on renting a car while I'm there as well.

How much can I expect to spend on insurance?"

“The cost of car insurance will vary for international policies. For example,
Progressive
teams with MexPro to offer car insurance in Mexico. Prices range from $2 to $40 per day depending on the type of vehicle and the coverage you want.
If you have a U.S.
car insurance
policy, your coverage may extend to Canada free of charge. If your coverage doesn’t extend to Canada, you may have to get a separate policy through your current insurance company.
In Europe, Asia, and Oceania, car insurers often suggest that you take the
rental car company’s insurance
, as they typically won’t extend coverage to these areas. Fees are often rated per day, so the cost will depend on your rental length and geographic location.
If your insurance company doesn’t offer international insurance, you may want to switch providers if you drive abroad frequently. Use the
Jerry
to compare rates and do a bit of your own research to find a company that provides the coverage you need.”
