What does Ford axle code 3l mean?
Hi! The sticker on my door jamb has a weird code in the axle column. Can you tell me what Ford axle code 3l means?

The various codes on that sticker can tell you a lot about a car, from date of manufacture to tire size. And, of course, it can also tell you about your axle.
Based on the Ford axle code 3l, it looks like you have a limited slip differential and a 3.73 ratio.
The problem with those codes is that Ford sometimes reuses them in different years, so I may be a little off with your model! If so, you can easily find your truck’s information by looking up “F250 axle chart” (or whatever your model is) online.
