What does drunk driving look like?
I work second shift at a factory and I usually have no issues when driving home. The other night, I noticed a car driving erratically and I thought they might be drunk. However, I’ve never seen a drunk driver before. What are some signs that another driver is drunk?

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
, drunk driving increases dramatically between midnight and 3 a.m. as bars close. If you want to identify drunk driving or know what drunk driving looks like, watch for the following signs:
- Driving into opposing traffic
- Illegal turning or changing lanes
- Violent or erratic swerving
- Drifting in and out of the lane
- Nearly striking a curb, object, or another vehicle
- Tailgating
- Weaving in and out of traffic
- Quickly accelerating or braking
- Running stop signs or traffic signals
If you feel unsafe or want to report the driver, dial 911 or call your local police department or highway patrol immediately.
