What does BMW’s CPO warranty cover?
I just bought a used BMW, and the salesperson told me it’s covered by the CPO warranty. What does BMW’s certified pre-owned warranty cover?

First, congratulations on your new car! Since you’ve bought a Certified Used BMW, your new-to-you vehicle is covered by BMW’s Certified Pre-Owned, or CPO warranty. This means you’ll have bumper-to-bumper warranty protection for your BMW for 1 year and unlimited miles.
Plus, if any of the vehicle’s original 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle warranty is still left, your CPO warranty won’t begin until after that expires.
The BMW CPO warranty includes major vehicle components, including, but not limited to:
- Engine
- Transmission
- Electrical system
- Air conditioning
- Heating
- Brakes
However, this warranty does not cover certain components that are prone to wear and tear, including, but not limited to:
- Brake pads
- Spark plugs
- Engine drive belts
- Windshield wiper blades
