What does BI mean?

Bodily injury is found on most policies as almost every state’s
minimum car insurance
required includes a bodily injury limit. Bodily injury covers any injuries you may cause to other drivers and their passengers when you’re at fault in an accident.
It is made up of two numbers: a per person and per accident limit. This limit includes coverage for:
- medical expenses
- lost wages
- pain and suffering
- funeral costs
If the other party’s injuries exceed your policy limit, you may be required to pay for the additional costs out of pocket.
Bodily injury also does not provide you with any coverage if you’re hurt and at fault in an accident.
