What does a do not park here sign look like?

Are there different types of no parking signs? I’ve gotten a few parking tickets since moving to the city and I’m starting to think that I might not know what a no parking sign looks like.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re dealing with some parking tickets! A do not park here sign can look different depending on where (and why) the sign is posted. The most common type of no parking sign is a white, vertical rectangle with a crossed-out P on it. Usually, parking in one of these places will result in a
parking ticket
or even having your car towed.
Some no parking signs will have red lettering on them instead. These signs typically say something to the effect of NO PARKING ANYTIME or PRIVATE PARKING and are usually posted by a business rather than the city. If you park in these places, you’ll usually be towed by the business that posted the sign.
