What do I do if my 2010 Honda Odyssey sliding door won’t open?
I went to load up my 2010 Honda Odyssey this morning, but the sliding door is stuck. It was working fine last night, so I’m not sure if it’s just cold or what’s going on. What do I do if the sliding door won’t open?

models were made just a little too well—and, as a result, the seal on the manual sliding door can stick a little too tightly. When this happens, you may have some serious trouble getting the sliding door to open or close manually. Models made between 1999 and 2014 are among the most common to experience this problem.
So how do you fix the issue if your 2010 Honda Odyssey sliding door won’t open? Here’s what to do:
- First, don’t yank as hard as you can on the door handle. While it’s tempting to pull as hard as possible, it could cause the door handle to snap off completely—making your problem even harder (and potentially more expensive) to solve.
- Second, unless you’re seriously car-savvy, call your local mechanic or Honda dealer. In most cases, an Odyssey with a stuck sliding door can only be repaired by replacing the door seal.
