What do I do if my 2007 Honda Odyssey’s sliding door won’t open?
I drive a 2007 Honda Odyssey and the sliding door has been acting up. This morning, the door wouldn’t open at all! What should I do?

If you’ve been driving your
Honda Odyssey
since 2007, you probably know that occasional hard resets are needed to keep your power sliding doors in working order. What you may not know is that the 2007 Odyssey in particular suffers from a known issue with the door seals—put simply, they seal too tightly.To figure out if your issue is with the power or our door seals, start by checking fuse 10A in the engine compartment fuse box. If the fuse is working just fine, it’s time to perform a hard reset on your doors. If your Odyssey is a used car you just bought or you’re a little hazy about how to reset the doors, here are the steps for performing a hard reset with the battery connected:
- Start the ignition
- Find the power sliding door switch on the left of the steering wheel. Push it to the “Off” position
- Return the same switch back to the “On” position
- Hold both sliding door buttons at the same time until the doors completely close
If these steps don’t work, your Odyssey may have a faulty door seal. You’ll likely need to
take it to the repair shop
or dealer to get the door open without damaging it. However, replacing the seal is pretty simple and should only set you back about $20 plus labor costs.MORE: Honda Odyssey oil capacity
