Luckily, you don’t have to worry about your battery dying on the road—the engine actually charges the car battery when driving through a device called an alternator.
Essentially, the alternator is an electromagnet that produces electricity when it’s activated by the serpentine belt. The serpentine belt is driven by the engine—so if the engine is running, you’re charging your battery.
It will usually take around 30 minutes on the road to charge your battery completely.
