What causes front end clunking noise when I'm going over bumps?
My 2019 Audi Q5 is making a clunking noise when I go over bumps. This just started happening, and I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary in my car. What would cause this front end clunking noise when going over bumps?

A front end clunking noise going over bumps is most often caused by damaged control arms or suspension struts.
Often, this kind of damage happens if you use your vehicle for off-roading adventures—or there are a lot of
potholes
on your daily commute. Either way, worn out or damaged control arms can cause the wheels to move out of alignment, producing a clunking noise going over bumps. If left unrepaired, damage can extend to your car’s body mount, causing noise and vibration in the vehicle’s cab. A damaged control arm will cost $160-$390 per arm.
Another potential cause for clunking is faulty suspension struts, otherwise known as shocks. Your car’s suspension system provides stability for the cab when wheels go over uneven terrain.
For cars with more than 35,000 miles, it’s recommended to fully replace their suspension struts. Replacing suspension struts will cost $400-$1000 depending on the make and model of your car.
