We need a third car for our family—my son just got his license. I found a used Pontiac Torrent for a decent price. The specs look good, but before I make the trip to the seller, I’d like to know a bit more. What are the interior features of a Pontiac Torrent?

The
Pontiac Torrent
is a midsize SUV discontinued in 2009 when the Pontiac division was closed by GM. The Torrent is a decent SUV with good reviews from owners, and the interior space received praise from Edmunds for being so roomy (in part because of its 60/40 split rear seats, which are adjustable). Unless you’re looking at a higher trim level, the base model’s interior has a lot of inexpensive plastic and cloth seats. However, the dashboard and controls are easy to decipher, and the cabin is relatively attractive otherwise. Features include a sporty steering wheel with built-in controls and a rather elegant back trim along with the dashboard.
The Torrent may make a great first car for your son because of its safety ratings and is worth taking a look at in person.
