What are driving examiners looking for?
What do driving examiners want you to do on your driving test? I know that you can’t break the law or do anything dangerous, but are there any good things that they look for?

It’s great that you’re trying to prepare for your test in advance! There are a few things that driving examiners are looking for during your road test.
Here are some things you can make a point to do well:
- Have a properly functioning vehicle. Your examiner will check over your car to make sure that all of your lights and signals work, your speedometer is working, your view isn’t obstructed with a cracked or dirty windshield, and you have the necessary seat belts and mirrors.
- Use your turn signal. Always signal your intent, whether you’re turning, changing lanes, or preparing to park.
- Drive the right speed. Make sure never to speed during your driving test, but don’tdrive too slowly, either.
- Obey all road signs. Keep your eyes open for things like school zone speed limits, yield signs, and other road markers that could affect your driving pattern.
- Brake smoothly. Practice applying pressure to your brakes slowly and smoothly so that you don’t jerk the vehicle when you come to a stop.
