in the US. Fortunately, NYC is a very walkable city and has a solid public transit system. Save money during your stay by skipping the rental and opting for public transit options instead, like- the subway
- taxi services, and
- the bus lines.
You should rent a car if you’re going to be exploring the state beyond NYC. Here are some tips for renting a car in New York state:
- Reserve your car in advance: The fall and spring months are New York’s peak travel season, but reserving your car in advance any time of year will ensure you get the best option at the best price.
- Determine who can drive the car: If anyone besides you will need to drive the car, be sure their name is included in the rental agreement.
