Should I contact the other driver's insurance company if he was at fault in an accident?
I got into an accident where the other driver was at fault. I filed a claim and my insurance company contacted the other driver's insurance company. However, they haven't heard back in a few days. Should I contact the other driver's insurance company to follow up?

“In most cases, you should not call the other person’s insurance company. From a legal standpoint, you’re under no obligation to do so. Your insurance adjuster should handle all the legwork and communication, regardless of your
type of insurance
. You should also avoid calling if you’ve hired a personal injury attorney as a result of the accident. Again, you hired someone else to speak on your behalf, and they should do their job.
On rare occasions, you may want to call the other insurance company if the other driver refuses to speak with their insurer or lied about the accident. This will prompt them to take action. But again, in most cases, you should avoid contacting the other person’s insurance company.”
