My car feels bouncy when driving. What’s wrong?
I noticed this morning that my car feels bouncy when I’m driving. I really notice it the most on the expressway. It’s like my car is on waves or something, going up and down, and it gets worse when I speed up. Should I visit a mechanic? Or just get a pirate flag for my car and fix it later?

That’s an awful experience to worsen your daily commute. And while we’re all for you getting a pirate flag simply because pirates are awesome, this sounds like an issue best handled by a mechanic. Also, please don’t wear an eye patch while driving!
There are several potential causes of your car feeling unusually bouncy while driving, and it’s a fairly lengthy list too. Some of the usual suspects include:
- Needing an alignment
- Faulty shocks or struts
- Ball joint damage
- Steering linkage/steering column issues
- Excessive or uneven tire wear
